Athena's 10k run for children's charity, REACT
14th July 2008

Athena Medical PR staff and associates put month’s of training to the test when they donned their trainers for the British 10k run (Sunday 6th July) in aid of children’s charity, REACT (Rapid Effective Assistance for Children with Potentially Terminal illness), a west London based charity which provides practical help to improve the quality of life for children with life-limiting illnesses throughout the UK.

The eighth annual ASICS British 10k London Run, which attracts 25,000 runners once again, took place through the heart of central London, starting outside the legendary Hard Rock Café on Piccadilly and taking runners along the embankment before the finish at Whitehall.

Although the Athena team couldn’t quite match the pace of race winner Stefano Baldini, who finished the race in 30 minutes, their efforts are expected to have raised £1500 for REACT.

Commenting on the event, REACT’s Hayley Buckle said “REACT Charity is immensely grateful to Athena Medical PR and their employees for the continued support and financial assistance provided to our work. We are so proud of the Athena Medical PR staff who took part in the British 10k in aid of REACT– their relentless energy and contagious enthusiasm not only got them round the course in record time, but also ensured another fundraising success.

Our partnership with Athena Medical PR is something we treasure and we are delighted they continue to support our work with terminally ill children”.
